Planting Day

Our first planting day was a huge success!  Bunnings staff had done some planting a few days before, but with 9 garden beds there was still heaps for the group to do on planting day.

There were plenty of willing helpers fuelled by the delicious home made scones and other goodies that the community brought along to share.

With the plants and seeds all in their new homes, the last step was to water them in and cover the soil with mulch.  With fresh clean soil, there won't be many weeds but the mulch also helps keep the soil moist and cut down the need for watering.
